Do not sell yourself short

You are an amazing person. Not because of your own strength but because you were created in Gods image. You were gifted by God. And God gives pretty efficient amazing gifts. Your brain is more powerful than any super computer. You have potential far beyond what you can imagine.

Sometimes other people see us better than we see ourselves. We see the flaws and negative thoughts, the what if’s and never haves. We battle failures and fears. When we see our inadequacies others see our potential. When we see our weaknesses others see our strengths. When we see the past others are looking at our future.

We cannot sell ourselves short and not take action to be all who we were made to be. And yes we were made with purpose. You have to raise your standard in yourself. The standard of your daily actions and thoughts. A standard of self talk. A standard of your habits and hobbies. Raise the standard on the expectations you have of yourself. You should have a higher expectation for yourself than others have of you.

Everything you need to be the best you can be everyday and make a significant difference in your world is already inside you. You have to nurture it out of you and grow yourself daily. You have to cultivate positive thoughts and deeds. You can do it so don’t sell yourself short of who you really are. Because my friend you are amazing. What changes do you need to make so you’re not selling yourself short?

Ps. There are some people who do not have the privilege of having other people see their value.  Therefore, let me point out, that When you raise your standard and see yourself as more valuable you also demand that others value you as well. The next time someone treats you below the standard you have placed on yourself, you will not accept it.

John Maxwell said, “be assured the world will not raise the value you have on yourself.”

Because you were created in the image of the Living God your value is high! How high you ask. First Sin brought your value down and separated you from God. You broke his commandments but God placed a value so high on you that nothing but the very best was sufficient to pay the price and bring you back to him except the blood of Jesus, God’s only son.

Jesus took your punishment, traded your filthy rags of sin for his holy heavenly robes of righteousness. When you repent and put your faith and trust alone in Jesus Christ God can legally forgive you and wipe your records clean because he sees you through the righteousness of Jesus Christ. That is Gods mercy and the value he placed on you.

But wait, God raised your value even higher because when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day he made a way for God to adopt you as his child and now you have become an heir to Gods kingdom with Jesus. That’s is Gods grace. You are more valuable than you think, will you accept the value God has placed on you?
