Don’t be silent.
We can pass it as introvert. Maybe as reflecting. Maybe our silence, we pass off as a good thing so as not to say something bad. Which can be good things undoubtedly.
Here is the problem with unguided silence, your mind runs ramped. And the negative thoughts or the lack of positive thoughts do nothing to make you feel better, solve the problem or even make you better overall. So speak. Speak out truth. Speak out your feelings. Always speak out thankfulness. Thankfulness will always put your situation into a proper perspective. And do speak with love. Speak with peace. Speak from a point of understanding. Speak with a tone and spirit of humility.
The other silence that is negative and is a horrific silence. It is the silence of doing nothing or saying nothing when others are in need or cannot speak up for themselves.
All too often we hear about “snitches” and all too often we hear about the the person who spoke against the wrong and is shunned. Shame on us for creating such a culture that turns right into wrong.
What happens when that wrong happens to you and you wonder where are all the people to speak up. Someone once said “it’s not the evil people who make the world evil but those who do nothing about it.”
Our silence is not okay. We must speak out when we see people abusing their children. When mothers are murdering their unborn children. When we see men verbally or physically abusing a woman. When we see someone devaluing another life. We must speak up for when one speaks up another will too and then another and then another and soon enough it won’t be our silence but we will see injustice silenced.
Speaking up is important and doing so with wisdom is necessary. There is always a time to be silent and a time to speak. There are many ways to speak up. Don’t be silent friend. Speak positive. Speak truth. Speak life! There are lives to be saved when we speak up. What do you need to speak up about?
