What are you saying?

We teach our kids never say I can’t. I tell them “you can do it. you may not be very good at it, it may be challenging, you may need some help, you might not even like doing it but you certainly can do it.”

The idea is I don’t want them to have self doubt. Here is the truth, if you say you can’t do it, you most certainly won’t do it. The interesting thing about it, is that no matter how skilled you are or how many resources and opportunities come your way, you will always find a way not to get it done because you’ve told yourself you cannot do it.

When you speak truth and speak positive words and then take action you release the floodgates of opportunity. Soon you see what you didn’t, you think thoughts you hadn’t before, you find more energy and passion to continue.

There are so many voices out there that we listen to. Some of those voices may be engrained from childhood but the loudest voice you hear most often and the one you always listen to the most is your own voice. You may have to rewrite the script your telling yourself. We all do at some point. It’s a constant examination.

The best way to stop the lies you tell yourself is to Find positive language to use. Replace I can’t to I can. And when thoughts start racing in your head open that beautiful mouth of yours and let your voice be heard as loud as you need to go and declare the opposite of what you just said to yourself in your head.

Affirm yourself. Believe in yourself. No matter how much I believe in you and I do believe in you, what matters most is what you believe about yourself. Believe and speak well of yourself. Friend, what words do you need to start eliminating from you vocabulary?
